This guide applies only to official Kuwait University pages. Official Kuwait University pages are defined as the web pages that have been created by the University, its academic or non academic departments, or other administrative offices. These pages should belong to kuniv.edu domain.

What is not covered by this policy:

While the University encourages the application of the policies, defined in this document, for ease of use and consistency across all parts of the Kuwait University Web, adoption of this policy is not required for:

• Student, faculty and staff personal pages, course management pages intranets, and student organizations outside the kuniv.edu domain.
• Any sites that exist to communicate the work of other multi-party organization of which Kuwait University is a part, but which is not an official Kuwait University organization

How items are imposed:

The recommended ideas, items, content and web page layout properties are categorized into the following categories:

• Mandatory: item and layout properties that has to be included in the advised format, location, and look with the web page. A non compliant for such items will directly categorize the web site as non-conformant with university standards yielding disapproval of publishing.
• Strongly Recommended: these items or layout properties which encouraged to be included as which is believed to be an added-value to the web site. A scoring system will be implemented for maintaining a threshold for such category.
• Optional: those items or layout properties which is appropriate to some web site but not suitable for others. Decision, is left, for the web administrator to take. A bonus points will be credited for every web site that implement such optional items.
