Dr. Muthana Talib Al-Rifaie, Dean of Admission and Registration at K.U, announced the admission of 421 Kuwaiti students and unidentified nationality students of Kuwaiti mothers at K.U for the second semester 2009/2010, which is the total number of the university applicants for this semester. He also stated that all the admitted students have been directly registered in courses of the second semester 2009/2010.
Dr. Al-Rifaie added that the University will decide on the admission of transferring students from outside the University and non- Kuwaiti students, including Cultural Grant students and high school graduates of Unidentified Nationality of Kuwaiti mothers, and will send them SMS to inform them of their admission and to set a date to register in the courses of the second semester 2009/2010. Knowing that the University will decide on the admission of some Cultural Grants students, who are nominated for the College of Engineering and the College of Business Administration, after taking the Academic Aptitude Tests on Monday 22/2/2010.
The Dean of Registration and Admission explained that the admission of Kuwaiti students and unidentified nationality students of Kuwaiti mothers was based on the minimum rates which were a result of the admission process in the first semester. Therefore any student, who holds a lower percentage than the announced rate of any college on the first semester, will not be admitted. This way the students will be directly admitted without the need to wait for the results of admission or knowing the admission rates. Whereas the admission of non Kuwaiti students is based on their competition for the seats allocated to them in this semester, according to the approved numbers by the University Council.
In conclusion, Dr. Al-Rifaie congratulated the admitted students at K.U and their families and encouraged them to work hard from the first day at the University, asserting that the study of the second semester will begin from 21/2/2010
